Level 3 >> Post 10 (week 15) Evaluation of your Blogging Experience

Hello readers!

Today I will write you about my blog experience. We are reaching the end of the semester and the blog has been an important tool to develop the class.

I have never written a blog in English and the experience has served me a lot. It is a way of practicing and approaching the language, I had forgotten English and this tool has helped me to reconnect.

I think it is an entertaining and direct idea to learn English or remember what we have forgotten, because you have to create an entry and think about a topic to develop in English.

Personally writing blogs in English has helped me a lot, because I have had to remember, search and invent texts and words. Has allowed me to practice my English and feel more confident with what I know.

I like to share anecdotes and interests with the rest of my colleagues, it is entertaining to read us and that we know a little more of the other.

I must confess that at the beginning I did not find much sense, and wrote for writing. But now I've really made sense of it and learned a lot.

see you soon!! On level four!

Level 3 - Post 9 (week 14) >> Themed post 3 ---> A country I'd like to visit in the future.

Hello readers!!

Today I will tell you about the country that I would like to visit. For starters, I love traveling, so for me, any destination would make me very happy, but since I have to choose just one country, I would choose Guatemala.

I would love to visit Guatemala, the country is known as the "land of eternal spring", it does not have extreme climates and always shines the sun. it is a beautiful country, full of culture and beautiful people.

In Guatemala the Mayan culture is mixed with the European colonial heritage. It is a unique country whith Mayan ruins and indigenous communities that continue living from their ancestral traditions.
The traditions, color, art and Mayan ruins are surrounded by natural landscapes, where living culture is a testimony of Mayan ancestors.

There is a national park called "tikal" word that means place of voices and is the largest maya city until now known and studied. It has spectacular mayan temples protected by the exuberant rainforest that marvels the visitor. The architecture of the classic maya period can be admired in its maximum splendor.

The landscapes are beautiful, mixed flora and fauna with exotic beaches of the Caribbean and Pacific ¡all in one place!
I would love to tour the whole country, a vacation to explore and learn.

I hope we all know Guatemala !, until the next blog!   see you!

Level 3 - Post 8 (week 12) A Subject you've enjoyed studying this semester

Hello Readers !!
Today I will write you about my favorite class.
To be honest, I do not have a favorite college class !! I really do not like any. But by choosing one, I choose my Degree seminar.
I have classes every Wednesday with Professor Sergio Rojas, he is very "seco".
Is one of those people with whom one expands knowledge. Makes you think and question everything. The degree seminar is a class to guide degree theses. The idea is to join with the teacher to discuss and reflect on your thesis topic.
I am very interested in the subject of textile art and the use of the ancestral technique as a means to convey contemporary ideas.
My degree seminar is about the artistic work of Cecilia Vicuña. It is an aesthetic proposal is its plastic argument.
Cecilia Vicuña works under the concept of "Lo Precario". But, what is "Precario"?.. Understanding that language creates a number of signifiers and realities. It is important to understand language as a reflection of ideas that surpass the common meaning of a word.
I still do not have my project fully developed, but I'm working for it!
Thanks for reading me! See you next week!
I will share some photos of the work of Cecilia Vicuña.

LEVEL 3 >> POST 7 (week 11) >> Career-related website / An expert on your field

Hello readers!

Today I will write you about an art portal that I really like! : Art Sy  https://www.artsy.net/

Art Sy is a meeting point between artists, art lovers and students. It is like a database that is dedicated to connecting diverse artistic interests through places and works of art. Its designer, Carter Cleveland, is a programmer son of art historian David Cleveland and with this website aims to "create an educational resource for people to participate and encourage them to explore and discover art."

The portal has different links of interest, Artsy presents the world's leading galleries, museum collections, foundations, artist properties, art fairs and profit auctions all in one place. Its database contains art, architecture and design images by many artists. It encompasses historic, modern and contemporary works, and includes the largest online database of contemporary art. Artsy is used by art lovers, museum visitors, collectors, students and educators to discover, learn and collect art.

I like the portal because it collects everything in one place, there are very few portals that have the galleries open to collect the art of your house! It is very interesting. I always visit the portal, it is a way to keep up in the spheres of art.

The portal has an application to make connectivity easier! Look for it!

I hope you like the page! Is very interesting!
See you next week!

Themed post 2: A FAVOURITE ARTIST / PIECE OF ART

Hi readers!

In today's blog entry I will tell you about my favorite artist.

Cecilia Vicuña is a poet, artist, filmmaker and activist. She born in Santiago de Chile, she has been in exile since the early 1970s. Vicuña began creating "precarious works" and Quipus in the mid 1960s in Chile, as a way of mix the ancestral and the avant-garde.
Cecilia vicuña has used pre-Columbian textile art as a reference to develop his authentic work. For this reason is that one of my favorite works is the collection of Quipus. She has many Quipus, but my favorite is the “Menstrual Quipu”.

The Quipu was a tool used by the Incas to carry out registration and accounting, Was an article made with wool and knots, each knot represents a number or a quantity. It is important the use of the Quipus for the Andean civilizations since it was also used as rosaries in Catholic churches. Has many hidden meanings and ancestral messages. Cecilia vicuña rescues some of its characteristics and brings its to our time.

I met the Quipus of Cecilia Vicuña investigating about textile art. She is known worldwide and has exhibited her work in different museums around the world.

I like the work of Cecilia Vicuña because it rescues an ancestral
language and redefine it. I think that is the way in which art
must be manifested, like a mixture of knowledge.

Upload some photos of the Quipu and I will leave
the link of the work Quipu Menstrual.

LEVEL 3 >> POST 3 (week 5) > MY FAVOURITE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY

Hey readers!

In today's blog session I will tell you more about my favorite technological device. Well, I don't have a favorite technological device! But I have to choose one... ¡okay! I choose the photographic camera.

My first camera it was a Barbie camera. I was 10 years old and I was very happy with that gift. I remember I was taking pictures of everything!!...Now I have two new cameras, also given by my parents, a Canon powershot sx500 and a Canon T5i. The first I always carry with me in my bag. Because it is smaller and easier to use and the second camera I use it to work.

Some people tell me that with cell phone cameras can do the same. But…¡that's not true! You can not compare it! Because it both have different essences, the camera captures different things with a lot of pressure. If both were the same, there would be no photographic cameras. ¿What do you think?

I have always believed that images keep memories, that is the reason why I like the photographic camera. Because it is the only instrument that can do something like this! ¡Create memorabilia! ¡wonderful! ¿true?

I love photo cameras! I don't know what my life would be without it!

I hope you like this blog post!
See you next week!

Blog session #5: A PHOTOGRAPH YOU LIKE

Hello readers!

Today, I will tell you about a photograph of myself. The picture I chose is very important for me and I hope you like it.

The picture you will see below, it was taken by my boyfriend in the summer of 2016.
I remember that day we had a picnic on the beach, watched the sunset and played cards, it was a very nice afternoon!

We are a small family, we are young and we have a little daughter. We have grown a lot and we have become strong. It's hard to be young parents, people always have something to say ja ja. But we went ahead together. For this reason I like this picture, because it makes me remember how happy we are together.

That summer was very important, because we were able to overcome our differences and understand that all people have different times. Sometimes it is good to take a break to think.

I hope you like the photo! We read next week
 see you!!!
